Sidhi Revenue District, originally part of the princely state of Rewa, became a judicial district on 12 April 1975, 27 years after India’s independence. The Court of District and Sessions Judge in Sidhi was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Justice R.K. Tankha of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, with Shri S.D. Jha served as the first judge. Initially, the court operated from Jajji Bhavan in Kotarkala until 1985, before moving to a new building in Purana Tola, Karondiya.

This structure was inaugurated by Chief Justice Jagdish Sharan Verma in December 1985. Besides the Sidhi headquarters, civil courts operate in Majhauli, Churhat, and Rampur Naikin, with a Link Court in Rampur Naikin. Majhauli also houses a Gram Nayalaya, with Civil Judges Class 1 and Class 2 overseeing its operations. The Family Court functions within the District Court premises, contributing to Sidhi’s judicial infrastructure.
