The Court of the District and Sessions Judge in Nongpoh was established in 2013 and was officially inaugurated on 31 August 2013 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Dr. Mukul Sangma, along with Hon’ble Mr. Justice T. Nandakumar Singh, who was the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya at that time.
