The District and Sessions Court in Wardha was established in 1911, initially operating from the Jankidevi Bajaj College of Science and Education. Shri B.B. Mehra served as the first District and Sessions Judge. By 1918, the court moved to a newly constructed building on Sewagram Road. In 2004, a new court building was inaugurated by Shri Dalveer Bhandari, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Bombay. The court has since operated from this new facility, while the older building now houses the Courts of C.J.J.D., J.M.F.C., and C.J.M.

Wardha’s judicial system includes 8 Tahsils: Wardha, Deoli, Hinganghat, Arvi, Ashti, Karanja, Samudrapur, and Seloo, with courts in all except Deoli. A Gram Nayalaya, part of a pilot project, was established in Wardha on 2 October 2009, and operates at Mahatma Gandhi’s Ashram in Sewagram. Additionally, a Juvenile Justice Board functions under the District and Sessions Court.
