Ahmedabad Metropolitan Court Recruitment 2024 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

The Metropolitan Magistrates’ Courts in Ahmedabad were established in 1961 with one Chief Magistrate Court, eight City Magistrate Courts, and two Special Judicial Magistrate Courts as per a Government of Gujarat resolution dated 29/09/1961. Since then, the number of courts and staff has increased to 43 courts in Ahmedabad, based on the jurisdictions of various police stations.

The main court building, the Metropolitan Magistrates’ Courts Complex in Gheekanta, is an eight-story structure housing 25 courts for IPC trial cases. Twelve special courts for Negotiable Instruments Act cases are temporarily located in the M. S. Building Complex at Lal Darwaja. A designated Metropolitan Magistrate presides over the Juvenile Justice Board from a building near Cama Hotel in Khanpur.

Two magistrates manage cases related to the Food Adulteration Act, Explosives Act, and Birth and Death Registration Act at the Municipal Corporation Building in Danilimda. One magistrate handles health and sanitation cases through a mobile court at Kankaria.
