The District Court of Surat, established in 1817, was originally located in the Old Court Building near the Collector’s Office. Currently, the court operates from two complexes at Athwalines, Surat: the District Court Building and the Fast Track Court Building. The District Court Complex, constructed in 1994, was retrofitted after the 2001 earthquake and reopened in 2005.

It houses courtrooms, offices, and various facilities, including lifts, water coolers, and a computer center. The Fast Track Court Building, inaugurated in 2005, also provides modern amenities. Both buildings have ample space, seating for litigants, and specialized rooms for mediation and legal aid services.
