Ahmedabad (Rural) Court Recruitment 2024 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

Initially, the District and Sessions Court, Ahmedabad (Rural) was situated at Bhadra until 3 November 1961, after which it was shifted to Narol on 4 November 1961, functioning there until 17 October 1988, which is about 15 kms from Ahmedabad. Subsequently, on 18 October 1988, the District Court moved to a newly constructed Judicial Complex at Mirzapur, Ahmedabad. However, due to severe damage caused by an earthquake, the court’s operations were relocated to the Old High Court Complex from 7 May 2001 until 13th November 2006. After retrofitting the Mirzapur Court Complex, the District Court resumed its functioning in its building on 14 November 2006.

The Judicial District of Ahmedabad (Rural) includes the Talukas of Dholka, Dhandhuka, Sanand, and Viramgam. Initially, Dehgam and Gandhinagar Talukas were also under its jurisdiction, but with the establishment of the new Judicial District of Gandhinagar on 31 July 2004, Dehgam Taluka was included in Gandhinagar Judicial District. The first District Judge of Ahmedabad (Rural) was Shri D.P. Desai. Due to the dilapidated condition of the Mirzapur Court Building, the District Court has again been shifted and is now functioning at the Old High Court Complex in Navrangpura with effect from 16 October 2023.
