The Civil Court of Dindori was established in 1964, with Shri Brijkishor Agrawal, Civil Judge Class II, serving as its first appointed magistrate. At the time of its inception, the Civil Court Dindori was under the jurisdiction of the District Court Jabalpur. In 1970-71, the district establishment was transferred to the District Court Seoni. Subsequently, in 1975, the district jurisdiction was further reassigned to the District Court Mandla.

In 1989, an Additional District and Sessions Court was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Shri V.C. Verma of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur. Shri H.L. Warde was appointed as the first Additional District and Sessions Judge of the Civil Court Dindori.

In 2009, the Civil Court Dindori was elevated to a District Court establishment. Shri S.D. Dubey was appointed as the first District and Sessions Judge of the newly designated District Court establishment in Dindori.
