Tehri Garhwal Court Recruitment 2025 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

In the Tehri Garhwal District of Uttarakhand, the highest court is the District and Sessions Judge, which holds principal civil jurisdiction under The Bengal, Agra, and Assam Civil Courts Act, of 1887. This court also tries session cases and has equivalent jurisdiction with the Additional District & Sessions Judges when present. The District Judge oversees civil and criminal matters, including motor accident claims, and holds supervisory and administrative control over all district judges and magistrates.

Subordinate to the District & Sessions Judge is the Chief Judicial Magistrate, who, along with the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrates and Judicial Magistrates, handles criminal cases as per the Cr.P.C. The district also hosts courts of Senior Civil Judges and Civil Judges with respective pecuniary jurisdictions of over and up to Rs 3 Lakh.

Tehri Garhwal also has a Family Court, Consumer Forum, and Juvenile Justice Board. The District Legal Services Authority, chaired by the District Judge, provides legal aid to the needy.
