The Judgeship of Rayagada was officially separated from its parent Judgeship of Koraput at Jeypore and began functioning independently from 7 July 2012. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Justice B.N. Mohapatra and Hon’ble Justice B.K. Mishra of the Orissa High Court, Cuttack.
The event also saw the presence of Hon’ble Shri Ajit Kumar Pattnaik, who was the District Judge of Koraput at that time, and Hon’ble Shri Sarat Chandra Mishra, who became the first District Judge of Rayagada. This marked a significant milestone in the judicial administration of the region, aiming to enhance the accessibility of justice for the people of Rayagada.
