Akola Court Recruitment 2025 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

As per Home Department Notification No. SRV/1057/5329(ii)-JJJ, dated 23 March 1959, the Bombay Government established Akola Judicial District from 1 April 1959. Initially, there was only one Sessions Judge, but later, the post of District and Sessions Judge was created at Akola. Berar, divided into East and West Divisions, consisted of Akola and Buldhana districts, with Akola being the headquarters of Western Berar. The District Judge of Akola had jurisdiction over Buldhana.

Separate Civil Courts were established at Akola, Balapur, Washim, Mangrulpir, Murtizapur and Karanja. On 3 March 2013, Akola Judicial District was split to form the Washim Judicial District, comprising Washim, Mangrulpir, Malegaon, Karanja, Risod and Manora talukas. Akola now has two session divisions: Akola and Akot, the latter being constituted on 5 January 2005. Both the district courts were inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Justices of the Bombay High Court.
