The Balotra Judgeship, established on 1 January 1949, was initially a combined judicial body for Balotra, Barmer, and Jalore. After 1 January 1977, Jalore became a separate judgeship. The district headquarters, situated in Balotra, oversees seven subordinate courts, including DJ, Family, POCSO, and ACJM courts. Barmer has 11 subordinate courts, while other subdivisions like Siwana, Chohatan, and Gudamalani house CJ & JM or ACJM courts, totaling 28 courts under this judgeship. Shri Laxmi Dan was the first District Judge here.
