On 31 October 2013, the Nandurbar Judicial District was officially separated from Dhule District, marking the establishment of the District and Sessions Judge office in Nandurbar, with Shri R. P. Joshi as the first Principal District & Sessions Judge.

The new District Court building was inaugurated on the same day by the Hon’ble Shri Justice Mohit S. Shah and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Prithviraj Chavan.
