In 1716, Raja Nandram’s son, Bhoj Singh, assumed control of Hathras from Rajput rulers. His lineage continued through Sadan Singh and Bhoori Singh, during whose reign the Lord Balarama temple was built within Hathras Fort. Raja Dayaram succeeded Bhoori Singh in 1775. Scindia ruler Madhavrao established his presence in Hathras by 1784, with the British taking control in 1803. Post-Independence, Hathras was a tehsil in Aligarh district until it became its district in 1997, later renamed Hathras in 2012.

The historic Raja Dayaram Fort, housing the district courts and the 250-year-old Sri Dauji Maharaj temple, is significant for its heritage and annual “Lakkhi Mela” celebrated since 1912. Recognized by the Archaeological Survey of India in 1920, the fort remains a protected monument. Hathras was designated a Sessions Division in 1999, and the new judicial district was inaugurated with Hon’ble Justice Brijesh Kumar officiating.
