RaeBareli Court Recruitment 2024 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

Raebareli district was established in the year 1858. Following the enforcement of the Code of Criminal Procedure in 1898, the Raebareli Sessions Division was formed. The district came under the jurisdiction of a District Judge for civil matters, assisted by a Civil Judge, often referred to as the Subordinate Judge. On the criminal side, the Subordinate Judge held the powers of an Assistant Sessions Judge. Initially, there were two Munsifs stationed at Raebareli and Dalmau, with the Dalmau Munsif’s court later being moved to Raebareli. Additionally, there were four honorary Munsifs, whose judgments could be appealed to the Subordinate Judge. However, the courts of honorary Munsifs were eventually abolished.

The Magistracy in Raebareli included three Magistrates of the First Class and one of the Second Class, along with the Deputy Commissioner, who also held the position of District Magistrate. Furthermore, there was a bench of honorary Magistrates in Raebareli town exercising Second Class Magisterial powers. The District Judiciary was initially subordinate to the Awadh Chief Court, with the High Court at Allahabad. Over time, Raebareli fell under the concurrent jurisdiction of both the High Court at Allahabad and its bench at Lucknow.
