Banka Court Recruitment 2024 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

The Banka Judgeship was inaugurated on 29 November 2014 by the Hon’ble High Court Chief Justice in Patna. Banka district is located in the far southeast of the state of Bihar. Its eastern and southern borders coincide with the Godda district of the neighboring state, Jharkhand. To the west and northeast, it shares boundaries with the Jamui and Munger districts respectively. The old district of Bhagalpur lies to the north of Banka.

Banka town serves as the district headquarters. The district was established on 21st February 1991, previously functioning as a sub-division of Bhagalpur district. Banka district comprises a single sub-division, Banka, which is further divided into eleven blocks: Banka, Amarpur, Shambhuganj, Belhar, Fullidumar, Katoria, Chandan, Baunsi, Barahat, Dhoraiya, and Rajoun. Out of these eleven blocks, nine are affected by Naxal activities.

Efforts are underway to develop a railway line connecting the existing Bhagalpur-Bounsi line to Rampurhat, which is well-connected to Howrah. Additionally, a railway line connecting Sultanganj to Jasidih through Banka is developing.
