The Aurangabad Judgeship comprises two Civil Courts: the Civil Court Aurangabad and the Sub-Divisional Court Daudnagar. The District & Sessions judge’s court in Aurangabad was inaugurated on 10 September 1977 by the then Hon’ble Chief Justice Sri Krishna Ballabha Narayan Singh of the Patna High Court, marking the beginning of the Judgeship functioning as a separate entity. Sri Jai Pati Sinha served as the first District & Sessions Judge of this Judgeship. Currently, Sri Sampurnanand Tiwary holds the position of District & Sessions Judge, under whose guidance and efficient administration, the Judgeship is poised to attain new heights and recognition.

The Sub-Divisional Court Daudnagar was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Justice (acting) Mr. Justice Chandra Mauli Kumar Prasad on 26 April 2008. A two-storied building is located within the premises of this Sub-Divisional Court. The courts of S.D.J.M, Munsif, and two J.M 1st class-cum-Additional Munsif are operational here along with their respective offices.
