Uttarakhand a state located in northern India and traversed by the Himalayas, is renowned for its Hindu pilgrimage sites. Rishikesh, a prominent hub for the study of yoga, gained fame following the Beatles’ visit in 1968. The city hosts the evening Ganga Aarti, a spiritual gathering along the sacred Ganges River. Jim Corbett National Park, a forested area in the state, provides a sanctuary for Bengal tigers and other indigenous wildlife.
At present, Uttarakhand houses a total of 13 District courts. The Uttarakhand High Court serves as the supreme judicial body for the state of Uttarakhand in India. Established on 9 November 2000, following the separation of Uttarakhand from Uttar Pradesh, the Uttarakhand High Court initially had a sanctioned judge strength of 7, which was subsequently increased to 9 in 2003.
