In 1942, a Sessions Court was established in the State of Alirajpur. Following this, the Federal Court was set up to serve the states of Alirajpur, Jobat, Dhar, and Jhabua, with Mr. Hazarilal Sanghi serving as the judge. The current judicial building, which replaced the old structure from the princely state era, was inaugurated on 27 February 1973, by the then Law Minister, Shri Krishan Pal Singh ji.

On 15 July 2009, Alirajpur was officially declared a Civil District. At that time, Mr. Ashok Kumar Joshi was appointed as the first District and Sessions Judge. Currently, Mr. Arun Kumar Verma serves as the Honorable District and Sessions Judge in Alirajpur. There are six courts operating in Alirajpur, including the Family Court.

In the Jobat Tehsil court of the Alirajpur District, one Additional District & Sessions Judge, Shri Nadeem Khan, is currently serving, with a total of three judges working in Jobat.
