The Court of the District & Sessions Judge, West Kameng, was established in 2019. Its jurisdiction spans across to Tawang District in the North, and East Kameng and Pakke-Kesang Districts in the East. Shri Gote Mega served as the inaugural District & Sessions Judge, West Kameng. Before the establishment of the District and Sessions Court, it operated as an Additional District and Session Court since 2013, with Shri Yomge Ado serving as the first Additional District and Sessions Judge.
The District and Sessions Judge, along with the Chief Judicial Magistrate, oversees various Civil and Criminal Courts staffed by Judicial Officers of different ranks. Additionally, the District Court Complex in West Kameng houses several other courts and offices, including the Special Judge for NDPS Court (covering Tawang, West Kameng, Pakke-Kesang, and East Kameng districts), the Special Judge for POCSO Court (covering Tawang, West Kameng, Pakke-Kesang, and East Kameng districts), and the Office of District Legal Services Authority (serving Tawang, West Kameng, Pakke-Kesang, and East Kameng districts).
