On 14 February 2006, Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate First Class Shri Liyansangzuala was appointed to the Mamit District Court, and on 15 February 2006 he officially commenced his duties. However, due to a lack of staff and adequate facilities, he was initially posted at the District Court in Aizawl.
Later, on 8 August 2008, under the guidance of Shri Thomas Lalrammawia, who is also a Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate First Class, the Mamit District Court was properly established and settled at its intended location in the Mamit DC office.
