Gyalshing, also known as Geyzing, is a district in the Indian state of Sikkim, situated just west of the Rangit River on the Rathong-Kalet interface. It’s approximately 112 kilometers away from the state capital, Gangtok. The West District Headquarters is divided into two districts: Gyalshing and Soreng. Covering an area of 1166 square kilometers, West Sikkim has a population of 136,299 with a population density of 84 per square kilometer. Popular tourist destinations include Pelling, Sanga Choling Monastery, Yuksam, Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Ruins, and Khechoperi Lake. Gyalshing is home to the Civil Court.
The foundation stone for the Court Building at Rabdentse (Gyalshing) was laid by Hon’ble Mr. S.N Bhargava, the then Chief Justice of Sikkim, on 27 July 1995. The Court Building was inaugurated on 3 May 1997 by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Malay Sengupta, the then Acting Chief Justice of Sikkim.
The Lok Adalat at West District, Gyalshing was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Justice Anup Deb, the then Acting Chief Justice, High Court of Sikkim, on 10 November 1998.
