Shahdol Court Recruitment 2024 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

Shahdol district became part of the newly formed state of Madhya Pradesh on 14 November 1956. Until 1960, the district courts were under the administrative control of the District Judge of Rewa, and from 1960 to 1969, they were supervised by the District Judge of Bilaspur, now in Chhattisgarh. Initially, there were no courts at the Shahdol district headquarters; two courts of Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate First Class operated from Burhar, 23 km away. In May 1962, one of these courts was relocated to Shahdol, with Shri S.K. Pandey as the first Presiding Officer. Due to the lack of a court building, the court functioned from four rooms in the District Jail until 1969.

Construction of the current district court building began in 1967 and was completed in 1969. It was inaugurated on 18 November 1969 by Hon’ble Chief Justice Shri P.V. Dixit. On 14 November 1969, Shahdol Judicial District was officially established, and Shri K.K. Verma, the first District & Sessions Judge, later became a judge of the M.P. High Court.
