Sikkim located in the north-eastern part of India, has four district courts. This state is bordered by Bhutan, Tibet, and Nepal. Surrounded by the majestic Himalayas, Sikkim is home to India’s highest peak, Kangchenjunga, which stands 8,586 meters high. Its terrain is adorned with glaciers, alpine meadows, and thousands of wildflowers. Climbing the steep trails reveals hilltop Buddhist monasteries, such as the venerable Pemayangtse, which dates back to the early 1700s.
Sikkim High Court serves as the highest judicial authority in the state. It began in 1955, with the issuance of the Judicial Proclamation of the High Court. This proclamation laid the foundation for the establishment of the High Court in Sikkim. After its unification, Sikkim was given the status of the 22 states of India.
