The District Court Complex in Longleng was inaugurated on 24 November 2022 by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Kakheto Sema, Judge of the Gauhati High Court, in the presence of Shri Neiko Akami, Registrar of the Gauhati High Court Kohima Bench, and Smti. Somet C Chang, the current District and Sessions Judge of Longleng. Carved out of Tuensang District in 2003, Longleng became the tenth district of Nagaland. It is bordered by Mon District to the east, Mokokchung District to the west, and Tuensang District to the south. The District Court functions under the establishment of the Chief Judicial Magistrate and the administrative authority of the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, with the post of District and Sessions Judge held as an additional charge.
Smti. Somet C Chang currently serves as the District and Sessions Judge of Longleng, while Shri Kumdilong Kessen NJS is the Chief Judicial Magistrate. The court is located near Hukpang Junction in Longleng, Nagaland. The district’s first Chief Judicial Magistrate was Late Niechochiyi Suyie.
