The District and Sessions Court building in Mon was established in 1988 and is strategically located at the main gate entering the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in Mon Town. This two-story building has the ground floor dedicated to the Prosecution section, where the Public Prosecutor, police personnel, and prosecution staff are housed. Currently, the office has four Government Pleaders-Cum Assistant Public Prosecutors. The first floor accommodates the District and Sessions Court, alongside the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate. Presently, four advocates practice law and are permanently stationed in Mon.
Initially, the Grade-1 officers were designated as Additional Deputy Commissioners (Judicial) until 2008, when the role was re-designated as Additional District and Sessions Judge. Later, it was further re-designated as District and Sessions Judge. The current District and Sessions Judge is Smti. Tucuno Vamuzo, while Shri. Boduve Peter Resu serves as the Chief Judicial Magistrate.
