Saharsa Court Recruitment 2025 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

The Saharsa judgeship was established on 18 November 1968, previously part of Bhagalpur Judgeship. Inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Mr. Satish Chandra Mishra, Chief Justice of Patna High Court, it initially had three sub-divisions: Saharsa Sadar, Supaul, and Madhepura. Birpur later became a sub-division, with its headquarters moving there in March 1999. Supaul was made a separate judgeship on 22 November 2014.

At its inception, civil justice in Saharsa was overseen by the District Judge at Sadar and the Munsif at Saharsa, with the Subordinate Judge’s court initially located in Madhepura. In 1974, Subordinate Judge courts were established in Saharsa and Supaul. Madhepura and Supaul became independent judgeships in December 1986 and November 2014, respectively, leaving only Saharsa.

Currently, civil justice in Saharsa is managed by the District Judge, Additional District Judge, Subordinate Judge, and Munsif at Sadar. Sri Durga Prasad Sinha was the first District and Sessions Judge of Saharsa. The Subdivisional Court at Simri Bakhtiyarpur, created on 16 April 2023, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Mr. Alok Kumar Pandey of the Patna High Court.
