The Judicial District of Vadodara, formed in 1949, covers much of the former Baroda State. The District & Sessions Court, Vadodara, originally functioned in the historic “Nyay Mandir,” built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III in 1896. This building, also known as “Chimanabai Nyay Mandir,” housed various courts. In March 2018, all courts were moved to a new, modern building in Diwalipura, Vadodara.

The new court complex includes 76 fully furnished courts, mediation rooms, video courts, a conference hall, and more. Additionally, it offers facilities like central filing, seating arrangements, and amenities for advocates, litigants, and staff.
