The Dausa District was established on 10 April 1991 by separating four tehsils—Dausa, Baswa, Sikrai, and Lalsot—from Jaipur district. Later, Mahwa tehsil from Sawai Madhopur was added on 15th August 1992. Located in the eastern part of Rajasthan, Dausa is bordered by Alwar in the north, Sawai Madhopur in the south, Bharatpur in the northeast, Karauli in the southeast, and Jaipur in the west. The city of Dausa, situated in the northeastern region of Rajasthan, is part of the historically significant Dundhar area. In the 10th century AD, the Chouhans and Badgurjars ruled this region, which was privileged to serve as the first capital of Dundhar.

The new District Court Complex of Dausa was inaugurated by the former Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, Hon’ble Justice A.P. Ravani, on 5 August 1995. The court building comprises three wings—one housing the court and office of the District & Sessions Judge, another for the ADJ Dausa and ACJM Dausa courts and offices, and a third wing for the Special Judge SC/ST (PA) Court, CJM Dausa, and JM Dausa. Additionally, a separate building for Gram Nyayalaya, Dausa, has been constructed within the same campus.
