Jalna Judicial District, initially part of Aurangabad Judicial District, was established on 01 May 1981, comprising four Talukas: Ambad, Partur, Bhokardan, and Jafrabad. The District Court and Chief Judicial Magistrate’s buildings were inaugurated on 22 August 1992 by Hon’ble Justice Makrand Vaidya of the Bombay High Court. Situated on 10 acres near Ambad Road, the District Court building features seven court halls, offices, and other essential facilities. Over time, the district expanded to include seven Talukas, with new courts established in Mantha, Badnapur, and Ghansawangi.

The Jalna District Court also houses Maharashtra’s first Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Center, inaugurated on 22 June 2013 by Justice Naresh Patil. The center is equipped with modern facilities, including video conferencing. E-Suvidha Kendras were introduced at the District Court in 2005 and later at CJSD and CJM Courts in 2011, enhancing accessibility and efficiency in judicial services.
