The Sadar Dewani Adalat and Sadar Nizamat Adalat were established in this building on 1 January 1832. Later, on 17 March 1866, Her Majesty issued the Letters Patent to establish the Hon’ble High Court at Agra, which also operated from this same building. In 1869, the High Court was relocated to Allahabad, and this building then became the Court of the District Judge in Agra.

Following extensive renovations, which concluded in March 2013, the building once again opened its doors to serve as the District Judge’s Court. This historic structure has thus witnessed significant chapters of judicial evolution, standing as a testament to the rich legacy of legal proceedings in the region.
