Ahmednagar Court Recruitment 2025 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

The new District Court Building was inaugurated by the esteemed Guardian Judges, Hon’ble Shri Justice S.S. Shinde and Hon’ble Shri Justice A.M. Badar of the Bombay High Court, on 12 February 2017. This six-storied building (G+5) features 49 spacious court halls along with related offices. It is equipped with six lifts for advocates, litigants, and staff members, as well as six lifts dedicated to judicial officers.

According to the Gazetteer of Bombay Presidency Vol. XVII (1844), a regular District Judge’s court was established in Ahmednagar in 1827, although Mr. W.W. Chammier had been exercising appellate jurisdiction in the area since 1823. Both the District Judge and Assistant Judge had appellate powers, with Assistant Judges hearing appeals from Munsiffs and the District Judge handling second appeals. By 1862, the High Court was established in Bombay. Notably, the late Mr. Justice Mahadev Govind Ranade served as the Inspecting Judge in Ahmednagar from 1891 to 1895, and many distinguished judges who served in Ahmednagar were later elevated to the Bombay High Court Bench.
