Mysuru Court Recruitment 2024 (eCourts.gov.in) New Notification

As per the Government Notification dated 24 August 1873, five types of Judicial officers were appointed after 1 January 1875. They were Munsiffs, Judicial Assistants, Deputy Commissioners, Commissioners, and Judicial Commissioners. From Sl. No.2 to 5, officers were invested with powers to decide appeals. The name of the department remained unchanged. The designations of Judicial Officers were changed with effect from 15 September 1879, and the names of courts were also changed as follows: The Court of the Munsiffs, The Court for the Subordinate Judge, The Court of the District Judge, and The Court of the Judicial Commissioners. The District Court was empowered to decide both Civil and Criminal Cases arising within the Jurisdiction of Mysuru District. Administrative control over the staff of the Department and subordinate Courts working in the District, including the District, rested with the District Court. It had the authority to withdraw and transfer suits, appeals, or other proceedings pending before it or any other Court in the District to any subordinate court in the District competent to try such suits or proceedings for disposal.

Mysuru Court

The District and Sessions Court in Mysuru were established with each Sessions Division. Every Court of Session was presided over by a Judge appointed by the High Court, located in the District headquarters. The High Court could appoint Additional Sessions Judges and Assistant Sessions Judges to exercise jurisdiction in a court of Sessions. The Chief Judicial Magistrates, located in the District headquarters, were subordinate to the Sessions Judge. Their important function was to guide, supervise, and control other Judicial Magistrates in the District. In the District, there were 9 courts of Judicial Magistrate First Class invested with the powers of trying Juvenile Cases, with the Prl. Chief Judicial Magistrate in the District headquarters having jurisdiction over all cases pending in the entire District.

Regarding the history, the exact date and notification for the establishment of the District & Sessions Court at Mysuru are unknown. However, it is inferred that the court came into existence on 15 September 1879, as per records maintained in the Record Room of this Court. Similarly, various other courts such as Civil Judge and JMFC Court, Mysuru, Court of Small Causes, Mysuru, First Munsiffs Court Mysuru, II Munsiff & JMFC’s Court, Mysuru, JMFC (II Court) Mysuru, Civil Judge & JMFC’s Court, Nanjangud, Civil Judge & JMFC., Court, Hunsur, Munsiff and Addl.JMFC, Court Nanjangud, Munsiff and JMFC, Hunsur, Munsiff and JMFC KRNagara, Munsiff & JMFC T. Narasipura, Court of the Civil Judge and JMFC., Periyapatna, and Court of Civil Judge and JMFC, HD Kote have their respective establishment histories mentioned with effect from different dates.
