Till 30 September 2004, the Civil Court of Korba was under the jurisdiction of the District and Sessions Court of Bilaspur. Civil District Court Korba was established on 1 October 2004. Honorable Shri R.S. Sharma served as the first District and Sessions Judge of Korba District Court. The foundation stone of the new District and Sessions Court building was laid on 3 September 2006 by the Honorable Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, Honorable Shri Subray Ram Nayak in the presence of Honorable Shri Sunil Kumar Sinha, Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court. ,
On 24 April 2010, the new court building was inaugurated by Honorable Shri Pritinkar Diwakar, Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court.
