The court of the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Charaideo, Sonari, was inaugurated on 8 August 1984 at Basic Training Centre, Bogoriguri, Bhojo. The first Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate was Sri J.S. Chetry. The Court of Munsiff was inaugurated in 1988, with Sri Tarun Phukon serving as the first Munsiff cum JMFC. A new court building was constructed at Rajadhap, Sonari, and was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Md. S. Haque, on 2nd June 1991. The Circuit Court of Adhoc Additional District and Sessions Judge, Fast Track, began operating in the new building on 15 December 2003.
A formal setup of the new court of Additional District and Sessions Judge took place in this building, with Md Syed Imdadur Rahman holding the post till 26 February 2021. Upon the inauguration of the new court building, Sri Rockta Lal Das became the first District and Sessions Judge, and Shri Rajesh Kumar Todi became the first Chief Judicial Magistrate of Charaideo district. Various functioning courts under Charaideo District Judiciary include the District & Sessions Judge Court, Civil Judge cum Assistant Sessions Judge Court, Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Court, and Munsiff cum JMFC Court.
